Following a number of requests from guests and clients we have commissioned well-known local artist Louise McKeon to create a landscape of Ballinacurra House – considered a unique example of Georgian architecture – for guests who wish to have a memento of their stay here.

She has produced a lovely work that captures Ballinacurra House in the spring of 2014. It also features our beloved Irish Wolfhound “Oscar” who is very popular with guests and must be the most photographed dog in Ireland!

The Louise McKeon Ballinacurra House Oil Limited Edition print is now available until stocks last.

Like ourselves and many past owners, Louise has Asian connections. Louise and her husband moved to Japan from 1987-1990, and started to paint full-time. Louise has exhibited extensively in Ireland and Japan and to-date has held numerous sell-out one woman shows. Group exhibitions include the Kansai International Show, Kobe, Japan and the Japan Exhibition at the Crawford Municipal Gallery, Cork.

Louise is a painter not attached to any particular school, deriving ideas, tastes and styles from various sources. She paints in a mixed medium of watercolour, acrylic and gouache on a variety of hand-made papers but in particular Japanese handmade paper called “Washi”. Her painting is primarily influenced by the Irish countryside and it’s rich colour and people.

Her work is held in public and private collections. She operates her own private gallery in Kinsale where her current works can be viewed. She has undertaken commissions for RTE (The National Radio/Television Broadcasting Authority) and the Irish Food Writers Guild.
