The Wine Geese and the West Cork Cheese Presentation

Local foodie experts Donal and David present a short history of 'The Wine Geese' – the Irish who emigrated to France, Australia, Argentina and beyond, and established some of the most famous vineyards. In a light-hearted approach to tasting and appreciating wine whilst being accompanied by some of the best boutique cheeses produced in the area, this is an entertaining alternative to the traditional 'cocktail hour'.

Some well known names include Aotea, McGuigans, Hennessy, Michael Lynch, Lurton, and the newest recruit to this elite - O'Brien's - the vineyard cost 1 Franc and is now worth millions. It seems appropriate to have such an understanding of this history particularly since the town hosts the only Wine Museum in Ireland and the country’s 'Gourmet Capital'.
